my aim is true

Beauty is mysterious as well as terrible. God and devil are fighting there, and the battlefield is the heart of man.

you are the ocean

One of the best memories about my grandma was when I saw her as she brushed her teeth. In passing I caught her removing her partial teeth & put them by the sink. I continued on my way, but for some reason needed to know what her smile looked incomplete. It made me soooo happy to see her semi-toothless grin that i yelled "Grandmaaaaa, you look so awesome! just like a pirate!" i was so young that i was proud of my new discovery about her. i was sure she appreciated my comment at the time. i mean, who doesn't want to look like a pirate, right? well, maybe she didn't. anyways, we laughed together for a while. though i'm not sure she was laughing for the same reason i was still amaaaazing. oh my poor grandma, may she rest in peace. i can only imagine the weird things i said to her as a kid. grandma p was a saint :)

There's nothing really like floating in a pool in the summertime. It almost feels like nothing else in the world exists when you're underwater. I think if I could float on a raft w/ my friends for the rest of my life I'd be so happy.

search & destroy

On really rainy days when we were kids, my brother & I would watch the water run down to the bottom of the hill from the upstairs window of our house. By the end of the day, huge pools of water would form at the end of our street. It seemed like it took forever, but if we were patient enough the wait was worth it. Cause when it was time, we'd race down the stairs & into the garage. We'd take our bikes to the street & fly down on a mission to destroy the reflections of the blues & greys of the sky on the water. By the time it was dark, we could barely move because of the cold. Nothing like coming back home washed out & happy

This song reminds me of those days...the ones that make you feel good about being alive & riding in the rain
